My Weekly Update

The past week at the NE Group has involved primarily the planning, writing and the design of business support projects. Over the last month, for two days out of the week I have been working from MANSKEP, a division of the NE Group based in Mansfield that delivers business start-up support activities. Other work over the past week has included meeting with possible delivery partners and making the relevant communications with key business support organisations. Fortunately, the week ended with some very good news; in the success of a project with which I had been involved and as a result of a proposal with which I had a significant contribution to in terms of design and execution.

Q: What did you think about the interview process?

The interview process for the NE Group was both challenging and extensive in its approach. There were three stages to the interview process:

  1. Psychometric Testing – This was my first experience of this style of testing; the process was fairly informal and lasted only 30 minutes.
  2. Assessment Day – This was the most challenging element of the interview process and involved an ‘on the spot’ presentation and various activities aimed at analysing group work skills.
  3. One-one Interview – This was the most formal and intensive aspect of the process. I was interviewed by both the HR manager and the Chief Executive.
