My Weekly Update

My last week at NE has actually been my first week as a full time employee of the NE Group as Project Coordinator for MANSKEP. My first week in this position was really a case of ‘hit the ground running'; immediately I had responsibility for the operational functions of the department and the management of the people that worked there. Although, the role is extremely similar to any previous input I may have had, I soon realised that I now have real responsibility and accountability for the day to day decisions that are made. I have found this first week challenging but rewarding and am looking forward to discovering my potential in how successful I can be in developing this position and department.

Q: What originally made you choose your degree subject?

In principal I chose my degree course and in fact my University as a result of my Mother. It was the case that I went through the clearing process after my A levels but was unsure as to whether University was right for me. My Mother said that I should go to University to better my future potential and she promised to buy me a laptop! With the laptop promised, it was decided that Business Studies would be a general enough course for someone who was unsure and would provide the widest range of opportunities after graduation.
