Regional economic regeneration company Nottinghamshire Enterprises have recently commissioned an independent evaluation of the impact that two ICT projects which they have delivered have had on their clients.

The projects that were evaluated are The Centre for Technology Excellence (CTE) a project which is funded by East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to provide businesses in the East Midlands with the tools, skills and support needed to increase and develop their usage of ICT.

The second project was The Second Steps Grant Fund, an ICT capital grant fund which Nottinghamshire Enterprises administered on behalf of East Midlands Chambers of Commerce.

The feedback received from customers of both projects has been extremely positive and some of the main points highlighted by clients were:

CTE:

  • 96% of clients were satisfied with the support received from the CTE
  • 95% of clients that accessed the CTE's ICT workshops believed they had helped their business make better use of ICT
  • 70% stated that they fully understand what the CTE is for and how businesses can benefit from it

Second Steps Fund:

  • 93% of beneficiaries have increased investment in ICT
  • 78% report this has led to more effective use of ICT
  • 72% confirmed this helped them become more innovative and competitive

Matt Bust, CTE Project Manager said:
"We are delighted with the results of this evaluation and glad to see that our services are of real benefit to our clients. This report has also highlighted to us areas of improvement in terms of delivering our projects which is something that we consider vitally important in terms of continually developing our services to ensure that we are meeting our customers needs."
