It has been announced today that the Mansfield based Enterprise Agency - MANSKEP and regional economic regeneration company - Nottinghamshire Enterprises are to merge with effect from 1 October 2007.
Speaking today John Whiteley, Chief Executive at MANSKEP said that "the decision to merge with Nottinghamshire Enterprises has been taken to ensure that the name MANSKEP, the service to local people and the brand continues inside a larger regionally based organisation".
Mr Whiteley continued:
"We are aware of the Governments simplification agenda as it prepares to slim down the current 3,000 business support services to small businesses to just 100, giving more focus and less confusion for customers of the service offer being provided. Directors felt that we could best continue to serve our customers and reflect this agenda if we stopped trying to go it alone".
Linda Shepherd, Chief Executive at Nottinghamshire Enterprises said of the merger;
"I am very pleased that we have been able to quickly and amicably come to the conclusion that the best way forward for MANSKEP is to merge with our operation. Nottinghamshire Enterprises has been working on a regional basis since August 2003 when emda awarded us our first contract, designating us as a regional centre for technology excellence. Whilst this regional focus has developed our portfolio we never forget that our customers are local people who are looking to start, grow and develop businesses. I look forward to serving the people of Mansfield and the surrounding areas with the same high quality business advice and support that people have come to expect over the last 21 years."
