The Centre for Technology Excellence (CTE) in conjunction with "Smartways" is delighted to be able to offer small to medium sized enterprises (SME's) based in the East Midlands the opportunity to access FilePoint. FilePoint is an innovative data backup solution, designed to ensure that a business can still operate should a disaster happen where ICT equipment is lost, stolen or damaged.

FilePoint is software which enables you to backup all of your business data to a secure external location at the click of a button. Therefore in the event of a disaster, this project could supply the business with a loan computer which holds a copy of the data that the business had securely backed up.

This free package also offers a business remote access to its files from anywhere in the world through an Internet connection.

FilePoint offers the following benefits:

• Restoration of files accidentally deleted
• Free software installation
• Free 12 month maintenance support

Based at Edwinstowe House and managed by Nottinghamshire Enterprises, the CTE is a project that has been established with funding from East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The aim of the CTE is to support small to medium sized businesses based in the East Midlands in developing their use of Information Communication Technology (ICT).

In addition to FilePoint, the CTE also provides the following services:

• ICT Workshops on a range of subjects including Excel, Word and E-Commerce
• Website Reviews - designed to advise a company on how their website can be improved
• Demonstrations on a wide range of hardware including tablet pc's and blackberries
• ICT Reviews - examining a companies ICT infrastructure and offering ideas on how it could be improved
