Nottinghamshire Enterprises Release 2007 Annual Report!

Economic Development company Nottinghamshire Enterprises have released their 2007 Annual Report which announces another successful year in all areas of operation.

The report details the company's main achievements from the past year, which have included:

  • Becoming the new owner and manager of Blackburn House Business Centre (formerly known as Boughton Pumping Station)
  • Winning the contract from Newark and Sherwood District Council to manage the Newark Beacon
  • Designed and developed the only project in it's category in the United Kingdom to be recognised as an exemplar by the European Commission in the ‘Regions for Economic Change' initiative
• Winning a major contract from East Midlands Development Agency to deliver Information Communication Technology (ICT) to small and medium sized businesses across our region

Nottinghamshire Enterprises own and manage Edwinstowe House and Blackburn House business centres both of which are thriving centres, which during the past year have between them have hosted over 1600 conferences and welcomed over 30,000 visitors.

The report includes a range of case studies on some of the tenants that have moved into Blackburn House over the past year, one of which is Cinderella's Beauty Salon owned by Clare Coleman, who said:

"I have found the help and support from everybody at Blackburn House fantastic. The premises are second to none, and complement my business, reflecting a calm, tranquil and professional image."

Nottinghamshire Enterprises' other main achievements this year have included being awarded a new contract to ensure that the Centre for Technology Excellence our flagship ICT project, is able to continue until June 2008, since this time we have:

  • Supported 392 companies in the East Midlands
  • Helped 91 businesses to increase their use of ICT
  • Enabled 77 businesses to benefit from a financial grant
