The Edwinstowe based Centre for Technology Excellence (CTE) opened its doors on Friday 3rd December 2004 hosting a breakfast meeting at Edwinstowe House.

The meeting was organised to mark the fact that the CTE had been in operation for a year and was attended by over 80 delegates including representatives from local businesses, colleges, district councils and business support organisations. Since its launch in December 2003, the CTE has successfully supported over 200 small to medium sized enterprises (SME's) throughout the East Midlands region.

Guest speakers at the event included Paddy Tipping MP and Martin Briggs, Chief Executive, East Midlands Development Agency (emda) who both gave inspirational speeches on their perspectives of the CTE and what has been achieved over the past year.

Martin Briggs said:

Managed by Nottinghamshire Enterprises, the CTE is a fully equipped Information Communication Technology (ICT) demonstrator facility, based at Edwinstowe House and established with funding from emda, the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and West Nottinghamshire College.

The support currently available through the CTE includes:
